Just for you.

I did a lot of driving today. Or at least I feel like I did. But the first thing I did when I got in the car this morning was turn my iPod to Hillsong United’s “Across the Earth: Tear Down the Walls” Album. This is one of my favorite albums ever, and for some reason, I kept having this huge desire to listen to it. So as I drove all over Oklahoma City today, I listened to it. When I first got the album on my iPod, I listened to it all the time. Seriously. I can still remember vividly a day last summer when I was driving down Hiwassee (a street near my house) with the windows down, blaring the music and singing at the top of my lungs. I have listened to it many, many times. But this time it was different. This time I knew there was a specific reason I was listening to it. So this time…I really listened. I listened to every single word. I thought about all of the lyrics. I made some of the lyrics my praise to God, and others my prayers to Him. But there was one song that really spoke to me today more than any other song. I’m a big music person. And when I hear music and/or lyrics that relate directly to what’s going on in my life at a specific time, it means the world to me. That’s one way I truly believe God blesses me. I feel like it’s our little connection, if you will. I guess you could say it’s one of His many love languages to me.There’s nothing like the feeling you get when you know God did something just for you. Well, today God gave me lyrics that I’ve heard a thousand times before and showed Himself to me through them in a brand new way. It made me so aware of His love for me and of all the things He’s willing to do for those who love Him and follow Him.I want to share the lyrics with you in hopes that they will encourage you and remind you of God’s unconditional and unfailing love.

“You fill those who are empty
And rescue those in the valley
And through it all You calm my soul
You find me in my weakness
And heal the wounds of my heartache
I worship You in spirit and truth

And You opened the door for me
And You laid down Your life to set me free
All that I am will serve You Lord
And You opened my eyes to see
All the wonder and awe of Christ in me
Jesus You’re everything I need”
