the Hubs & me

Hey, friends. You're probably wondering why I'm sitting with a random man in front of a wall that says "DRYERS." Well, that's not a random man...that's my husband! And Dryer is our last name!
Yep...like washer and dryer.
Go ahead...
Laugh it up.

Okay, that's enough. Stop laughing now.

I decided today would be a great day to tell you about my Mr.
I know I have lots of new readers (woohoo!), so I wanted to give you a chance to get to know me a little better! So here's a semi-quick glance at me and Hubs. Enjoy! And no laughing!

Okay, you can laugh.

Here we are just a few months after we started dating. I was 17, he was 20. Precious.
We met in the summer of 2008 working at a kids' camp together in Davis, Oklahoma.
How fitting now that we're kids' pastors, right?! :) God's pretty cool like that.
We continued dating while I finished out my senior year of high school and he did an internship under a kids' pastor in Ponca City, OK.

After I graduated high school, we both moved to Springfield, Missouri for school. I went (still attend) Evangel University, and he went to James River Leadership College. Before his last semester at JRLC, he was offered a job in the elementary department, and has been working there ever since!

Here's another picture of us when we were still dating.
Yep...I had some short hair.
He's so cute.

And then it happened. We got engaged! November 20, 2010.
To make a long story short:
He offered to take me to the mall to get my nails done. He came back when I was finished and had a Build-A-Bear box in his hand. He said it was "for his niece."
Uh-huh...at this point...I knew it was coming.

On our way to the story for groceries, he "took the wrong turn" and then just "decided" to go the park instead.
I get out of the car, and he takes FOREVER to get out. When he walks around to my side of the car, I can see his jacket bulging like he's trying to fake a pregnancy. But...being the nice girlfriend I was, I pretended I didn't notice.

We sat down at the park, and he handed me the bear. I pressed it's paw and it talked! It said to feel its heart! I gave the bear a squeeze, and there it was. Stuffed inside the bear...a ring box.

'twas quite a wonderful day. :)

Fast forward 7 months to June 18, 2011.
Best. Day. EVER.
And also...
Hottest. Day. Ever.

That's right. We had a June, Oklahoma wedding...outside.
Dumb decision. Dumb, dumb decision.
It was 104 degrees, no exaggeration.

But hey...we had free snocones for all the guests! :)

Here we are on our honeymoon. Key West, Florida.
Where I had a ((virgin)) pina colada every single day.
It was heaven. Every day (especially in the winter), I dream about being back on those beaches.

A couple months after we got married, we got to take a second honeymoon!
We went on a missions trip to Zambia, Africa and got to stop in London on the way.
It was my first time to ever leave the states, so it was a such a special trip for me.
Someday I'll have to tell you all about the adventure. I'm SO ready to go back.

Now, we've been married for almost 2 years (woah). Hubs is finishing up his degree at Central Bible College while working full time as a kids' pastor at James River Assembly, and I'm finishing up my degree at Evangel!

I'm so proud to be his wife. He's such an incredible, passionate, God-fearing, hilarious man, and I couldn't imagine life without him. Seriously.

As you can see, he's pretty goofy. He makes me laugh all the time (which makes photoshoots and taking 'normal' pictures rather difficult. props to our favorite photographer for putting up with us!)

And even though I try to get him to laugh at my jokes, we both know he's the funnier of us. I'm learning to embrace it. :)

So there we are! I'm proud of you for making it all the way to the end!
It's hard to sum it all up in just a few pictures!

Thanks for stoppin' by and reading my blog!
I'll tell Hubs you guys said hello. :)
